Notes:

1. Standard days are 10 hours, and begin when the van leaves our home office and heads in your direction. The day ends when the van arrives home again.

2. People need to eat, and part of my relationship with my crews depends on my ability to keep clients from infringing on their need to have a few minutes near the middle of the day to relax a bit and recharge. This time is not part of the 10 hours we are charging for. If we're chasing a shot and you must have us "do a drive-thru" and eat or snack on the run, you will be billed 30 minutes of overtime (1.5x hourly rate) for the lunch time for each crew member.

3. Actual Out-of-pocket food and parking expenses will be added to the bill for myself and each crew member. (We do not mark this number up) Also, mileage of .35 per mile over 50 miles. This is what pays for the expensive equipped van we bring.

3. After 10 hours, overtime begins. The first 3 hours are at 150% the hourly rate (which is 1/10 of the day rate). After 13 hours, you will be charged double time the remainder of the way.

4. Terms are COD for all first time customers except established networks with a purchase order like "CBS".

5. Payment is expected within 30 days, and I do mean 30 days, of the date of the shoot. A 5% surcharge per month will be assessed if the check is late in arriving. If you have any doubt about your abilty to pay me within 30 days, please do not even call me. I pay my freelance crew people first, and you should too.

6. For Film shoots, all bookings require 50% cash in advance, no exceptions.

7. I am fair and honest, reasonable and fun. Let's keep it that way by paying us what our hard work is worth, in a timely fashion. Thanks!

8. My guarantee:

Kindig Omnimedia guarantees that all video taping or film shooting done for its clients will be done with technical professionalism (very well shot, with the highest possible video and audio quality given the circumstances); and with the greatest possible communication effectiveness of the recorded material given the subject matter. If the client is not satisfied with the work, Kindig Omnimedia will either reshoot or give a full refund. Kindig Omnimedia also reserves the last 10% of its progress invoicings as a "delighted" payment. If clients are not "delighted", they are encouraged to withhold the final 10% until they are.

Normal day-rate - $1100, plus tape, mileage outside of 50-mile radius of Columbus. Add $150 if Dick is to conduct the interviews. No guarantees that all audio will be perfect in this case -- and you can expect minimalist lighting in these cases, too -- unless you simply need one or two really nice interviews and Dick by himself has enough time to do the lighting and audio chores that are required for excellence. Supports 1 or 2 small camcorders, or Broadcast DV or HDV package (up to 15 pounds). Add $150/day, Orion or Gemini packages only.

Underwater DV

3-chip Sony TRV900 DV, with underwater housing and snorkel

Dick is experienced at shooting Manatees, and has done numerous swimming-pool shoots as well to show a fresh perspective. "Arcturus" rate plus $100.

2-Cameras at Once

Sony PDX10 and Sony TRV900. Both are excellent 3-chip camcorders.

Unique rig designed by Dick Kindig allows both a wide and tight shot at once. Great for "you are there" action. PDX10 shoots uncompromised 16:9, megapixel stills, and Broadcast DVCAM. DV-only, "Arcturus" rate plus $150.

HMI Lighting

Standard package contains K5600 Jokers:
3 400's and
2 200s. Let us know what other lighting or grip gear you will need and we'll come prepared or hire a larger van.

Joker 200s have 3x the daylight light output of 1K tungsten. 400s have double the daylight output of 2k tungsten. Yet they are cool on the set. Also have light tube attachment, Chimeras complete with black egg crates to control light, Chinese lanterns, flat medium Chimera for lighting tabletop products or conference table "circle of light" situations. All 5 fixtures included in "Orion" rate, 3 Jokers included in "Gemini" rate. Alacarte price: $75 per Joker.

Aaton A-minima

This is Dicks favorite camera. We like to rent from Abel Cinetech. Great lenses, fast acting, Dick does his own A/C work with this rig, fantastic way to get fast cinematic "real people" documentary style shots for TV spots or high-end marketing or fundraising projects. Time-lapse Cinematography Bolex package, or rented 16mm or 35mm system Dick is an experienced hand at guaging lighting trends, timing effects, etc. in order to get great cinematic results of sunrises & sunsets, cloud movement, traffic movement, sunlight across buildings, etc. Because we normally have the timelapse rig on our own Bolex, we can add these shots to our work day for a nominal extra charge. Jib arm/dolly shots/steadicam -- any kind of moving camera

Organic "feel" for responding to live events and unscripted moments.

Dick loves to move the camera and he has lots of tricks up his sleeve to do so. In addition to our own Steadicam, Travato Arm jib and Cinesaddle mounting systems, we also can bring specialists with Jimmy Jib and a variety of crane applications.

Dick has been called "The best interviewer on the planet". This can't be true, but he is excellent at making people feel at home, open up, and look good too. And he can move the camera at the same time he is shooting and directing. $900 per day, no equipment.

What editorial style do you want? It doesn't matter, because Dick has many styles he can use. His focus is content, pacing, surprise, emotion, music-driven cuts and dissolves, visual excitement without resorting to "eye-candy". On a top-end Final Cut 4 system!
