reality of today's production budgets are that you must carefully
decide what is mission-critical. And it is mission-critical that
you get great interviews from each subject in your video. Normally,
that would mean you MUST budget to go to the interview location
yourself, and do the interview yourself. You know the subject, and
you know the audience, you know what questions to ask and what feeling
you are after. You also know that it would be a disaster to ask
99% of the camera people or even freelance directors in the market
to do YOUR interviews for you.
You
CAN trust me to do it, however.
If
you give me an hour of your time on the phone and a follow-up email,
I will be sure to make a good impression for you. I will be sure
to make a warm human connection with your interviewee. I will make
them feel good about the experience. Most importantly, I will come
back with footage that fits the style of your piece, that is right
on target, that is effective and convincing and entertaining and
cinematic. If you want B-roll, there is no one better at getting
great, spontaneous, shots with lots of variety and that demonstrate
a clear grasp of the communications purpose of the segment.

it. You're probably coming down to the deadline. You should spend the
day in the office, editing. Instead, you need this interview, and it HAS
to be a good interview. You NEED me to bail you out.

crew, conduct the interview, either shoot myself or hire an excellent
cameraman to shoot while I give full attention to the interview and your

I have
a fully equipped van and can be to 60% of the population of the
U.S. within a day. My standard $350 travel day rate (plus .35/mile)
will put me in New York or Boston or Chicago or Atlanta or Peoria
or Texarkana whenever you need me there. Or I can fly anywhere.
